Nothing makes a video viral like a teenager, probably high on drugs, being chased by a rhino.
The video of a teenager jumping into the rhinoceros habitat at the Chiang Mai Zoo has gone viral this morning to be met with the unfailing condemnation of Thai netizens.
The video, filmed by the teenager’s friend, shows him climbing into the cage of the rhinoceros in attempt to take a close-up picture of the animal. The rhino, which was happily eating its dinner, turns to the boy and chases him to a rock.
The zoo’s director said the incident is believed to have happened around 5pm to 6pm, after the day staff completed their shifts.
To discourage another case of animal disturbance, the zoo is considering whether to prosecute the boy, who appears in another animal abuse video showing him poking the zoo’s crocodile with a stick.
Morning News reported this group of Chiang Mai teenagers have been responsible for a long list of public disturbances, some of which they’ve filmed and uploaded to the internet.
