There’s nothing new about bad traffic.
Back in the glorious days of 2514 during the height of the American-Vietnamese War, a new extended bridge was open to relieve the traffic in the heart of the city.
This vintage film from Jan. 2, 1971 takes us back 43 years to see the re-opening of an improved Chalerm Lok Bridge on Ratchadamri Road.
The new bridge was extended from two to four lanes, which at the time was believed to have solved the area’s traffic problems.
This video was released by Film Archive Thailand as a part of its “Today in the Past” series.
