US Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth to boost auto parts trade between Thailand and US

Ladda Tammy Duckworth, the first Thai-American US Congresswoman, expressed her commitment to helping strengthen relations between Thailand and America today.

The American politician of Thai descent said that the auto parts industry would be one of many areas where both countries could work together. Besides mutual economic development, Duckworth vowed to coordinate with Thailand to put an end to many other issues. One of the most pressing she mentioned was human trafficking.

Duckworth is returning to the US today after participating in a series of friendly activities over the past week. She expected to get back to work immediately since US lawmakers are contemplating military action in Syria.

Duckworth emerged last week as an opponent against US military strikes in the Muslim nation.

“The only reason to ever go to war is to protect our own nation and our nation’s interests,” Duckworth stated. “We need to be very careful when we decide to go to another war that, frankly in my opinion, is currently not in America’s best interest.”
