Unravel the history of performance art in Thailand

How much do you care about performance art in Thailand? If it registers anything higher than “meh,” you might want to check out a discussion of its history and development coming to the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

“Asiatopia Talk 2014” is a series of discussions to be held at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre about the development of performance art in Thailand and Southeast Asia.

As the opening talk of the series, Chumpon Apisuk and Nopawan Sirivejkul will explore how the network of artists in Southeast Asia shaped and inspired the landscape of performance art in Thailand in the 1980s.

Chumpon Apisuk is a prominent performance artist in Thailand. He is the director and founder of Asiatopia International Performance Art Festival.

Nopawan Sirivejkul is an active performance artist who has performed in many countries around the world. She is also the manager of Asiatopia in Thailand.
