An unfortunate Thai man shared a painful experience with the public—he was stung in the throat after eating a pineapple with a bee stinger in it.

In a story reported in local media yesterday, Paiboon Srisutat, from northern Lampang province, said that he bought the pineapple from a local market on Tuesday. Being a frequent customer of the fruit vendor, he never thought that there could be a bee’s stinger in his fruit.

As the vendor peeled the pineapple, Paiboon noticed that there were many bees hovering and buzzing on the pineapple The vendor just swatted her hands to shoo the bees away.

Paiboon ate the pineapple and felt pain in his throat a while later. Soon he couldn’t open his mouth as his throat started to swell.

He used a flashlight to examine his throat and found a bee stinger in it. He used a cotton swab to remove it from his throat, reported Sanook.

Having an allergic reaction to the bee sting, he went to the doctor. Luckily, the allergic reaction was not severe and the doctor was able to relieve his swelling and pain.

Paiboon warned people to be careful of what they eat, adding that he was very unlucky since it was very rare to find a bee stinger in food.
