Yesterday over 600 experiments ranging from seaweed cosmetics to rice planting were on display at the Thailand’s Research Expo 2013. The idea that stole the show, however, was Khon Kaen University’s Eri silkworm project, which featured an eccentric collection of silkworm recipes.
Visitors were treated to a display of worm recipes such as stir-fried worms with holy basil, worm chili paste, worm spicy salad, worm-filled steamed buns and worm pizza.
While many of us might be repulsed by the image of stir-fried worms on top of the pizza, the university guarantees they are absolutely delicious and a great source of protein.
For those who are interested,the exhibition will be held until 27 August at Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre near Siam BTS station, the Daily News reported.
