Two new bike routes to open in August

Two new bicycle routes stretching 4.5 kilometers will open next month.

Timed with the Mother’s Day holiday and celebration on Aug. 12, the two paths will open at Makhamtes Lake and Sakaengam Samduen Lake in the Khlong Sam Wa district, according to Ninnart Chalitanon of the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority.

The two artifical lakes were built as flood protection, according to state media, and have now been landscaped to provide new parks and cycling routes. The route is also designed for mountain bike riding.
