The last night of Songkran fun ended in gunplay in Bangkok and two other provinces, killing two people.
According to police, drunken teens in the capital’s Sutthisan district got into a fistfight after exchanging dirty looks. The guns came out; a teen was shot dead and two others injured.
A Prachinburi motorist said shot were fired at him as he rode his motorcycle home by two people in a pickup truck who exchanged glances with him. He was also a little drunk, he said. A bullet hit Sakda Chuekong’s motorbike but missed its rider, so they rammed him and drove away, according to Khaosod. Police speculate the truck occupants may also have been drunk and felt upset that Sakda had looked at them.
In Petchaburi province, a carwash owner, Papas Rattanawut, was shot dead after reportedly getting into a brawl with a group of people he’d been seen drinking with.
