Travel company to start offering space flight to (extraordinarily wealthy) Thai citizens

Like a louche playboy, inured to all but the furthest extremes of depravity, some of Thailand’s ultra-elite travelers have done, seen and experienced it all. Safaris in Africa, meteor-collecting trips to Antarctica, helicopter tours of Cambodia – these men and women have seen everything. Everything, that is, except…SPACE!

Or at least that’s what luxury travel company Khiri Voyages is banking on. In partnership with a space tourism firm called SXC, Khiri will soon start offering Thai citizens the opportunity to visit outer space, albeit briefly, and at stupendous cost.

Those who book with Khiri (who will have the distinction of being the “first Thais in space”) will undergo training in the Netherlands before lifting off from one of two locations – either the Mojave Desert in California or Curacao in the Southern Caribbean.

Though lasting only one hour, the trip does promise to bring passengers 103 kilometers up into Earth’s atmosphere, at which point they will experience sensations of weightlessness and have access to a mighty fine view.

If you’re interested in booking one of these excursions, Khiri would like to invite you to check out this website, and to pay special heed to SXC’s July 8 “press event.”

If you have to ask how much this costs, you can’t afford it.
