Trains coming to suburb: Yellow and Pink Lines await cabinet approval

The dream of Lat Phrao residents and frequent visitors of Impact Arena to shorten their commute is coming true as officials plan to add two more train routes to the suburb.

The investment plan for the Yellow and Pink Line monorail elevated train projects were approved by the Public-Private Partnership committee yesterday, and it will soon be forwarded to the cabinet.

If approved, bidding for the projects is scheduled to begin in June, according to Thai PBS

The Yellow Line will connect with MRT Lat Phrao and the future Samrong BTS station. The route will stop along major residential areas such as Chok Chai 4, Lat Phrao 101, Pattanakarn, and Srinakarin 38.

Meanwhile, the Pink Line (Khae Rai – Min Buri) will connect with the MRT Purple Line which will open in August this year. The route will stop at Impact Arena, Government Complex, Lak Si, Watcharaphon and Min Buri Market.

The budget set for the train construction is THB56 billion for the Pink Line and THB54 billion for Yellow Line. The two routes are scheduled to open in 2020, Voice TV reported.
