This morning, a tour bus traveling from Ayutthaya to Bangkok hit a pillar connected to a road sign, causing the sign to collapse onto the inbound lanes of Vibhavadi Rangsit Road. The sign fell onto and blocked three lanes of the road, forcing drivers to use the toll way and paralyzing traffic.
Direk Suriyawong, an employee of Cherdchai Tour and the driver of the bus, told police that a brake malfunction caused the bus to reel out of control before it drifted off to the side of the road in front of Don Muang International Airport.
Direk will face charges related to careless driving, INN reports.
