A man who’s been dubbed “Mr. Four-Eyed Hothead” for a viral tirade that offended many people in what he called a “nation of low-lifes” publicly apologized early this morning at a police station where large crowds swarmed for a chance to tell him he was an asshole.
Phutthamonthon district police had to call in reinforcements to tame the crowd gathered to photograph and hurl insults at Rachata Wangkitsareonsuk after the 24-year-old was summoned over trashing all the realm with profanity-laced slurs in a rant following a traffic accident last night in western metro Bangkok.
After the clip landed online like a fragmentation grenade of butthurt, Matichon reports that Rachata’s mother pleaded for understanding at the Phutthamonthon Police Station from those now calling him the worst person ever for the harsh things he said about his country-folk.
Rachata’s mother said her son was “sincerely sorry,” had been gone from Thailand since he was young and “did not understand Thai traditions” anymore.
“Sometimes even when I talk to him and he says I can’t understand me. So I think the incident occurred due to his ignorance,” she said, adding that he suffered from depression, has uncontrollable mood swings and was off his medication the night prior
Rachata’s tirade was deemed so objectionable that even the police said they are looking for any charges they can file against the man who laid bare his loathing for his homeland and its people.
“I hate Thai people. I hate this country – I shouldn’t have come back to this god-forsaken country filled of low-lifes,” he can be heard screaming at the beginning of the clip which has ricocheted around the web.
It all started when 24-year-old Nantawat Kamolram grazed Rachata’s Honda Civic with his truck, leaving a mark. While both parties were calling their insurance companies, Rachata went nuclear on Nantawat.
After Ratchada’s declaration of his hatred, an unidentified woman later, identified as his girlfriend, presses her palms together to wai in apology to Nantawat when Rachata shuts her down, saying she should “cut it out” and not “wai trash of society.”
“You are trash of the society! Do you have the fucking means to pay me back for my car? … Do you even have any money? How many thousands do you have? How many millions? I have a million in my savings I can show you right now!” Rachata is heard yelling at the top of his lungs.
The woman tries a few more times to stop Rachata, who just ignores her and even shoves her away.
“Let me tell you something, everyone who drives trucks in this country all drive like shit. I don’t care about Thai people, I’ve always hated Thai people. Mark my words, you nation of low-lifes, I don’t respect anyone in this country, not even the prime minister,” Rachata said.
“That’s your decision. … But you really shouldn’t look down on me like that,” a surprisingly composed Nantawat says in response.
“Yes I can… I will look down on anyone and everyone I want even police, I don’t care. … I’m the son of a millionaire you know?” Rachata continues to scream throughout the roughly 5-minute clip.
At the end of the after-midnight presser, Rachata apologized for his “disrespectful words spoken out of anger.”
“I really love my car, so when that accident occurred, I panicked because it got damaged,” he said. “Due to my mental situation, it may have seemed like I overreacted to Rachata. … so I’m very sorry.”
Correction: An earlier version of this story misidentified Rachata’s vehicle as a Toyota Civic, which ofc makes no sense. It was in fact a Honda Civic.
