Thousand-year-old penis statues found in Nakorn Sri Thammarat

Two lingams or sacred penis statues used for worshipping Shiva were found by a local in Nakorn Sri Thammarat province yesterday.

Ane Sijamart, the director of Fine Art Department, reveals the local dug up two lingams in Sichol province hidden inside a metal casket.

Both lingams are approximately two centimeters long and estimated to be 1,000 years old. They will be displayed at the Bangkok National Museum and Nakorn Sri Thammarat National Museum, Khaosod reported.
