Those who like it hot: Brazilian and Thai artists spin tropical hybrid

If genius is 99 percent perspiration, a group exhibition coming later this month to HOF Art Space should be really great.

United by the sweat of their brows and tropical latitudes, the artists of Tropikos will show contemporary works representing a hybrid tropical culture by blending their equatorial points of reference. Brazilian artists André Mendes, Fernando Franciosi and Juan Parada collaborate with Chalit Nakpawan, Torlarp Larpjaroensook and Jackkrit Anatakul for the show.

Somewhere between their sunny and sultry homelands, the artists hope to bring their diversity of inspiration to find the similarities of a special region.

The opening reception starts at 7pm on Jan. 24.
