Foreign nationals unable to fly home have another month to figure things out, after which they can apply for additional extensions if necessary.
Health officials announced last night that the Interior Ministry approved extending the recently expired visa amnesty to Oct. 31 for those who can’t fly home due to closed borders or a lack of flights, after which they will need to make their case at an immigration bureau office to stay longer.
The amnesty was put in place earlier this year due to the pandemic. Since April, all valid visas have been automatically extended. It had lapsed this past Saturday.
