A 26-year-old Lampang man, the third suspect in the Huai Khwang gang rape and robbery case, was arrested at a bus terminal in Lampang’s Muang district last night in Thong Lor police.
Wittaya Thantanyaluk and three other accomplices are accused of robbing and sexually assaulting a 25-year-old waitress at a hotel in Huai Khwang district on May 27.
Wittaya said he received a phone call from a friend, asking him to take part in the crime. Police earlier apprehended two other suspects, 32-year-old San Somboonsup and 22-year-old Banpot Khunthong. They are still hunting for 27-year-old Kunanon Marin.
Investigators received a complaint filed by the waitress who worked at an Asoke restaurant. The victim told police that four men sexually assaulted her before stealing her Samsung S3 phone and a gold necklace.
