Officials confiscated over THB5 million worth of smuggled bottles of liquor, both fake and authentic, in Bangkok recently. The liquors carried labels of well-known brands in a raid that targeted multiple warehouses across the city.
In a move that would have brought shame to bootlegger “Bill” McCoy, Department of Special Investigation (DSI) seized a total of 2,761 bottles of liquor — 2,307 of them are authentic. They were smuggled from neighboring countries.
Police believe the owner of the confiscated booze, whose identity was not disclosed, might have been in the business of selling bootlegged liquor — both authentic and fake — for over three decades in Phra Nakhon area. Yikes!

It was not reported what charges the supposed bootlegger would be slapped with or what other information the DSI have presently uncovered in their raids, Thai PBS reported.
