Another THB80 will soon be added to the inconvenience of losing your wallet or handbag.
The military cabinet today approved a new rule raising the cost to replace national ID cards from THB20 to THB100, effective immediately.
A government spokesman said the existing fee, THB20, was less than the cost to produce a new card: about THB50.
A higher fee seems to mean fewer cards replaced, he added, saying that when the fee was increased to THB100 in 2011 and 2012, far fewer cards were reported lost than from 2012 to now, Bangkok Post reported.
