Thailand’s love for stereotype-reinforcing game shows continues as an actual woman has emerged triumphant from a reality show testing the fairer sex’s intelligence.
In case getting into Thammasat’s law program wasn’t enough, Patsalin Reeprom, a fourth-year student, can now say she was named the smartest “Smart Lady” of the reality television program yesterday.
From thousands of applicants, 12 candidates were chosen to join the “Smart Camp,” where they were lived inside a monitored house for a month. During their time on camera, each participant was assigned a responsibility to determine their abilities. After the completion of her tenure in the camp, Patsalin received most votes among those in the household.
Patsalin received a cash prize of THB200,000 and a wicked plaque for her wall. The 11 other contestants received cash prizes of THB100,000. In addition, the Thai Women Empowerment Fund donated THB1 million to fund all 12 women-oriented development projects proposed by participants during their time on the show.
The organizer asserts the show aims to empower and encourage women to adopt the leading roles in the society, as they are powerful forces that drive the nation forward, NNT reported.
We just wanna know what’s next: “Faithful Man?” “Honest Student?” “Trusted Politician?”
