Thais spend more time on the internet than they spend watching television

According to Google Thailand, Thais spend more time online than they spend watching television. Thais now spend an average of 16 hours a week on the internet, while TV usage holds steady at 10 hours per week. However, online advertising spending is still lower compared to TV media, reports Ariya Banomyong, country head of Google Thailand.

The Bangkok Post reports that Thais mainly spend time interacting with four types of online media – television, computers, smartphones and tablets. Ariya stressed the fact that Thais spend only 36% of their downtime watching TV, while internet and mobile phones account for 49% of that mix.
