Life on Thailand’s motorways will soon get easier, with possible shorter than five-kilometer queues during the Cheng Meng festival.
The popular Easy Pass system will be expanded from only expressways to the motorway system, according to highway authorities, who said negotiations with the Department of Highways over the system are almost concluded.
Figuring out how to handle the VAT tax is the last step before the system goes online, according to Aiyanat Thinaphai of the expressway authority. The VAT is currently included in expressway tolls but not on motorways.
