Whether uploading selfies, sending Line stickers or running cookies, Thailand has got a serious internet addiction.
According to a traffic analysis by Asean DNA, the kingdom’s internet speed averages 17.7 Mbps, making it No. 2 in Southeast Asia and just above the global average of 17.5 Mbps.
From a study of one month of traffic collected mostly in March, the average pan-ASEAN rate was 12.4 Mbps. Singapore outshone all with its zesty 61.0 Mbps speed. At the other end of the Southeast Asian spectrum, the Philipinnes crawl along at 3.4 Mbps, behind Laos’ 4.0 Mbps.
