You will soon be able to fork over more baht if you want to binge watch all your favorite Marvel, Star Wars, and K-drama content from Disney+ Hotstar concurrently through multiple devices as the streaming service will introduct a second subscription plan with the capability at the end of June.
In a recent announcement made by the streaming service, Disney+ Hotstar said it would offer two subscription plans starting June 29 – the existing package that launched two years ago will still exist as “Disney+ Hotstar Mobile” (B99/month, B799/year), which only allows you to stream content to one device at a time per account, no Airplay, and 720p high definition.
The new second subscription plan – “Disney+ Hotstar Premium Plan” – will allows users to stream content across four separate devices/screens simultaneously in 4K high definition with improved sound quality. Under this new plan, people can create multiple user profiles and also access the service via Samsung TV. The price? THB2,990/year.
What about those who subscribe to the service via third parties? Those who are billed for Disney+ through providers such as AIS will also need to choose a new plan before their next billing cycle. They will receive an SMS informing them to choose a renewal plan three days before their current plan expires.
The news follows a similar announcement made by Netflix Thailand, which recently implemented new fees on users sharing passwords with others who aren’t living in the same household.
