Thailand has won thirteen Asean Energy Awards for renewable energy and energy saving projects.
The wastewater treatment project in Chantaburi Province netted the first renewable energy prize, while the first runner-up award in the category went to a hydropower plant in Chumphon Province.
At a two-day forum, energy ministers of the ten member association met their counterparts to discuss regional energy cooperation, the development of renewable energy, effective energy saving and supportive measures.
As energy prices are increasing, Asean member states are looking for energy security and a variety of energy sources, hoping that their cooperation will bring about long-term mutual benefits, Bernama reported.
