The holiday season is here and with it comes cooler days, frantic shopping and, in Thailand’s northeast, women flocking to hug giant penises.

*Record scratch*

That’s right, in the city of Khon Kaen, women are showing their love for big dick at a wacky park where they can hug phallic erections in hope they will get equally endowed partners.

Located in Khon Kaen’s Ubonrat district, Traitep Dream Forest harbors a Thung Krajiew, or Penis Paddock, where giant penis sculptures sprout from the ground to cast long shadows.

“Whichever penis you hug, you will get a partner of that size,” a sign helpfully instructs.

A screengrab from One 31 Live, a local television news, shows women hugging penis-shaped installations at the Traitep Dream Forest.

There are still veins of phallus worship, which goes back long before Buddhism and has been part of cultures worldwide, in Thailand’s animist traditions. Phallus figures can be found at shrines throughout Thailand; a densely packed penis garden once drew visitors behind Bangkok’s former Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel.

The Khon Kaen park sign details a folk tale of a deity named Lahone who liked to sexually harrass people and was dismembered as punishment. His most precious member is therefore meant to be an object of scorn.

“And that’s why his penis is placed here, to be humiliated publicly,” park owner Tritep Sahakhan told reporters.

While some berated the park’s popularity as obscene, others saw humor. Some noted that, with all the media attention it’s received in recent days, the park is likely to go the way of Chiang Mai’s sexy crepe seller and everything else deemed objectionable by the nation’s conservative reactionaries.

Go give one a squeeze while you can. Traitep Dream Forest is open 10am to 6pm.
