Netizens are losing their minds over an adorable Facebook post that shows a single dad going the extra mile to give his two sons the Mother’s Day experience — by wearing a dress to their school.

With Thai Mother’s Day coming up on Sunday, schools all over the country held their annual ceremony this morning for students to give flowers to their moms to indicate love and gratitude for all they have done.

The fact that Chatchai Parn-uthai is a divorcee didn’t stop him from attending the mom-exclusive event at Wat Trai Rattanaram Charity School in Kanchanaburi province.

“I’m a single dad with two kids. I can do anything,” he wrote on Facebook.

The post from this morning shows Chatchai — adorned in a frilly, soft pink dress — while receiving flower garlands from his two sons, disproving any idea that dads can’t multitask.

Within a mere six hours of going up, the heartwarming post has already received more than 27,000 likes and 22,000 shares from smitten Facebookers, as well as its fair share of jokes: “Mommy needs to shave his beard.”

Ah, what a wonderful way to start the long weekend.

On a serious note, Mother’s and Father’s Day ceremonies have become a controversial topic on Thai social media in the past few years, with many concerned that the children of single parents feel left out by events exclusive to just moms or dads.

Around this time last year, heartbreaking photos of a middle school girl giving flowers to an empty chair — because her mom could not attend — went viral. While details of the photos or the reason the girl’s mother did not attend the ceremony remain a mystery, the photos were widely shared as a cautionary tale for others who have moms to love and cherish.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story referenced Chatchai Parn-uthai as a widower due to misleading self-identification. It has subsequently been revealed that he is, in fact, a divorcee.
