Thai twins, 4, wed in Chonburi

More than 100 guests turned out for their wedding in Chonburi province, including government dignitaries. The bride and groom were of the same age and can look forward to long lives together, as they were both 4. Any paying the THB99,999 dowry? No problem, as the bride and groom were also brother and sister.

This may seem strange if you’ve never heard of twin baby nuptials, but in Thailand it’s customary to hold a symbolic wedding for opposite-sex twin babies. It’s that samsara thing, and tradition holds that such twins must have been lovers now reunited after being separated in a previous life.

Their parents, Garathep Rakthuam and Lachaya Puangpan, said they beleived marrying their twin children will bring great fortune to both the newlyweds and the family, Khaosod reported.
