Thai traffic tickets will now include English translation and can be appealed

If you’re a foreigner that’s ever been on the receiving end of a traffic ticket in Thailand and could not understand a word of it, you’ll be pleased with this news.

The newly re-launched and revamped Thai traffic tickets will include English language translations for each section as well as a section to appeal the charge within 15 days if you don’t agree with it, reported The Nation.

Not only that, the new tickets also feature a barcode making payment easier than it has been in the past.

Now, those charged with moving violations will have 15 days to object to the charges by going to the station and proclaiming their innocence. They can tell their story to an investigator, who has the power to revoke the ticket, according to Pol. Lt. Gen. Wittaya Prayongpan, advisor to the Royal Thai Police.

Last Friday, the Royal Gazette published the revamped designs the tickets given on the street and those that are sent in the mail.
