A cabbie-turned-good Samaritan reportedly rushed an unconscious 11-year-old girl to hospital last night after being asked for help by a mysterious man on a motorcycle, a man police have told Coconuts Bangkok they believe was the victim’s stepfather and likely assailant.
Taxi driver Sommai Wadduangdee, 51, said he was parked at a red light on Setthakit Road, in Samut Sakhon province, when a motorcyclist approached and asked him to take a “sick” 11-year-old child to hospital, Workpoint reported.
The biker claimed to have found the girl unconscious on the same road and told Sommai he would meet him at the hospital. According to Sommai, however, the mystery man never turned up.
Police now say they believe the biker is actually the girl’s stepfather — the man last seen with her. Worse, an initial physical examination of the girl indicated that she had been sexually assaulted, and the stepfather is currently considered the chief suspect.

“We are gathering evidence and information, and we’re in the process of issuing an arrest warrant to the stepfather,” Pol. Maj. Somchart Tempiam, a deputy commander of Krathumband Police told Coconuts.
Police said that the girl lives with her grandparents, and the stepfather was picking her up from school and supposed to take her to her ill mother — who is now at a hospital in Angthong.
But instead, he took her to Samut Sakhon province, where he lives with the girl’s mother.
