Thai star of Netflix show ‘The Stranded’ dies at 25

The star of Netflix’s first original Thai series died Wednesday. He was 25. 

Papangkorn “Beam” Lerkchaleampote’s cause of death is yet unknown. According to his manager, he was taken to a hospital after he could not be awakened from sleep, and was pronounced dead there. 

On social media, people speculated that he died due to the sudden unexpected death syndrome. 

Papangkorn’s body is currently awaiting autopsy results. His funeral today will be held at Wat Thepleela in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi district at 4:30pm.

#BeamPapangkorn has been the top trending hashtag on Twitter in Thailand since last night.

Papangkorn played the lead role in The Stranded as Kraam, one of many high schoolers trapped on a remote island following a tsunami.
