Thai Spy with My Little Eye: Defense Ministry may launch intel collection app

The Ministry of Defense hopes to release an application in the future that would let citizens report any suspicious activity that they observe.

The intelligence-reporting app would help the Defense Ministry safeguard important locations and counteract distorted information.

In addition to the possible app, Defense Ministry Spokesman Maj. Gen. Kongcheep Tantrawanich revealed that all government surveillance cameras are being checked to make sure they are operational and that a public network is being established to collect information that could better allow understanding of events, reported Thai News Bureau.

Maj. Gen. Kongcheep extended his call to all citizens, asking them to use their phones to film or record any suspicious activity, saying that in the near future the application will be launched that will allow such information to be directly forwarded to authorities. He urged all to be play an active role in securing the nation.
