Thai people spend more than two hours per day watching YouTube

According to new data released by YouTube Thailand, urban Thais spend about 2.4 hours each day on the video platform and that 46 million — of a total 69 million Thai citizens — watch the popular video site.

YouTube revealed insights about its Thai users at the YouTube Day 2018 event in Bangkok yesterday. While those in the nation’s cities average 2.4 watching hours daily — spending about 70 minutes each time they access the site — those in the countryside average slightly less at 2.1 hours each day and about an hour per visit.

Thai users access the site to enjoy a variety of content.

When it comes to the purpose of their YouTube visits, 70 percent of Thai users have, at times, listened to music on the site, while 51 percent occasionally watch old TV content, 33 percent have watched original content on the site, and 24 percent have used it to find out more about products or services.
