Thai net sleb parades around BKK airport finding creative ways to say ‘bomb’ (Video)

A Thai model drew fire today for intentionally repeating the word “bomb” at Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

Nisamanee “Nutt” Lertvorapong was criticized for being inappropriately provocative on a matter of public safety  after jokingly repeating the word for explode and bomb (rabert)which is forbidden by airport policy – in a video for social media.

In the clip circulating online, Nisamanee walks around the airport’s departure level cheekily using the word “explode” or “bomb” in sentences such as “I want to eat noodles with fish ball bombs” or “Your dress is the bomb” to goad her friends, who play along.

“‘Bomb’ is a forbidden word at an airport. It’s illegal. It’s not a joke,” Dumex_ALK wrote in a tweet that garnered 57,000 retweets. “Her friends try to stop and stop again and she still talks. Nutt Nisa looks playful like she’s challenging the rules.” 

By this afternoon, the Twitter hashtag #NuttNisamanee was trending, drawing further waves of criticism from those concerned about her inappropriate joke.

According to the posted policy, people cannot say certain words at the airport including drugs, gun, weapon, or bomb. People found guilty of doing so face up to five years in prison and a fine of THB200,000 (US$5,800).

Nonetheless, some thought the drama was overblown.

“She is an influencer making content, only making jokes. Don’t take this seriously,” @Araijakonsuay tweeted.

Others noted that such stunts could cause flights to be delayed.

“If these words are uttered for staff to hear, the flight will be delayed immediately, everything must be offloaded and checked via machine and everyone has to board a new flight,” Vivarinya tweeted. “No one jokes about bombs in the airport. Not just etiquette, but it’s the flight rules, go to jail, girl.”

Nisamanee previous caused an uproar in 2017 when she offended Myanmar netizens by wearing a flamboyant costume during a visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon as part of a vacation photoshoot. Some felt it was disrespectful to wear a costume to a sacred site.
