Naset Taweepisitkun thought he’d found a buyer for his multi-million baht luxury watch when he walked into The Quarter Hotel in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district early this morning.

Hours later, police said they are searching for the man who answered the ad by pulling a gun on Naset and running off with the Richard Mille timepiece estimated to be worth THB5.2 million (US$162,000), according to an officer answering the phone at the Chatuchak Police Station.

Naset told police he’d been contacted via Facebook by someone who wanted to meet and discuss the sale. He might have been tipped off when the mystery buyer-robber set the time at 1:30am, according to Khaosod.

After ganking the treasured chronometer, the thief ran out, hopped onto a bike and disappeared into the night.
