A photo of the ID card of a Thai man with the unusual name of ‘Mr. Coup Leader’ has gone viral this week, but fortunately, he has already ditched his political name.
The man reportedly changed his name to Mr. Coup Leader in 1972, a year before the ‘October 14 Event’ in 1973 when the uprising of citizens resulted in the ending of the military dictatorship.
Then in 2013, it was reported that he changed his fist name back to Suwit (his last name with witheld), exactly a year before the military took power in 2014.
Interesting.
Some netizens did not believe it was his real name, but it was later confirmed by the district office who issued the card. Obviously, his name is legit and legal, according to Sanook.
We cannot confirm whether he is related to ‘Mr. Heangjobshappylife Makelifebetter’, who also changed his name back because he had trouble spelling it.
