Roses have been a symbol for the day of love for centuries, since the greeting cards companies invented Saint Valentine’s Day.
But one Thai man stepped up his game this year, with the goal of doing something delectably different for his wife of 15 years.
Naeak “Eak” Wichapom is going viral today for his wildly creative moo kra ta or pork barbecue bouquet — made with real pork and vegetables taped to a real pan.
“I’ve given her many things over the years we’ve been together, I figured she’d be bored of everything by now. So I wanted to do something weird this year,” Naeak — who runs a Facebook page with over 2 million likes called Bored of My Wife that creates funny comic strips about modern relationships — told Coconuts Bangkok this morning.
“Money and flowers just seemed too normal. I also wanted to tease her,” he said.
“I was secretly making it in the kitchen. She saw that I had bought a pan and was a little confused but when I finally finished she really liked it,” Naeak said.
Within merely 16 hours, his post received over 2,000 shares and 8,000 likes. Some commenters even asked if he was selling it but Naeak told us he isn’t planning on it — which bummed us out a little because we wanted to buy one for our own carnivorous significant others.
Afterall, you can’t eat flowers.
