Thai ladies beat Japan in volleyball quarterfinals

Thailand beat Japan in four sets in the quarterfinals of the 17th Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship yesterday.

The Thai ladies claimed a 25-15, 25-23, 23-25, 30-28 victory over last year’s Olympic Games bronze medallists and current world number three nation.

Thailand lost their previous two meetings against Japan. They are grouped with Japan, Kazakhstan and Vietnam in Pool E, reported the Bangkok Post.

The ladies play their last match in the Pool E quarterfinals against Vietnam today at 2pm. The match will be broadcast live on Channel 7.

The draw for the quarterfinals knock-out stage will be released after the completion of the round-robin matches today.
