Thai football team is hot on wheels after 3-1 win over Vietnam yesterday, continuing their winning streak.
Both teams had already qualified for the semi-finals before the match started, but Thailand’s win secured its position as group leader.
The game wasn’t exactly one-way traffic however, as Vietnam grabbed a late consolation after Thailand struck ahead three goals to lock the victory.
Not all was in Thailand’s favor Wednesday, as Vietnam leapfrogged back over Thailand to second place in the overall medal tally.
Thai athletes claimed a total of eight gold medals: two each in boxing, shooting, and throwing events, and one each in windsurfing and billiards. But it was not enough to hang onto the lead over Vietnam.
With 52 gold medals, 26 silver medals and 45 bronze medals, Vietnam recaptured the No. 2 spot over Thailand’s 49 gold medals, 57 silver medals and 43 bronze medals.
