THAI fares just got more expensive for 59 international routes

Starting today, Thai Airways has increased the fuel surcharges on 59 international routes, causing the ticket price to go up from $US5 – $US33 (THB163 – THB1,076) per leg of travel.

The national airline has raised the fuel surcharges an average of 137 – 200 percent for the selected flights without giving specific reasons. This is Thai Airways’ second adjustment on the fuel charges this year.

Here are some of the routes that Thai Airways have adjusted the price on, as reported by Thairath.

Fuel surcharges on routes from Bangkok to Yangon, Hanoi, Vientiane, Ho Chi Minh City, Phnom Penh, and Luang Prabang will increase 138 percent, or $US5 for economy, and 200 percent, or $US8, for business class.

For the routes from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur, Kunming, Singapore, Dhaka, Calcutta, Kwang Chou, and Hong Kong, surcharges will rise 160 percent, or US$8, for economy and 172 percent, or US$12, for business class.

For the routes from Bangkok to Colombo, Chengdu, Manila, Kathmandu, and Jakarta, surcharges will rise 157 percent, or US$11, for economy and 170 percent, or US$17, for business class.

For the routes from Bangkok to Delhi, Bombay, Bali, Karachi, Islamabad, Dubai, Tehran, Beijing, Shanghai, surcharges will increase 156 percent, or $US14, for economy and 162 percent, or US$21, for business class.

For the routes from Bangkok to Osaka, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Seoul, Sapporo, surcharges will rise 154 percent, or US$17, for economy and 162 percent, or US$26, for business class.

For the route from Bangkok to Perth, surcharges will increase 139 percent, or US$18, for economy and 142 percent, or US$27, for business class.

For the route from Bangkok to Sydney, Melbourne, Moscow, surcharges will increase 138 percent, or US$22, for economy and 138 percent, or US$33, for business class.

Surcharges on routes from Bangkok to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Munich, Rome, Milan, Zurich, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Brussels, and Auckland will increase 137 percent or US$30 for economy and 137 percent or US$45 for business class.
