A Thai man miraculously — and we mean MIRACULOUSLY — survived after an 18-wheel truck lost control at a curve and flipped onto its side, landing direction on top of his car in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang district yesterday morning.

Worawut Yuyatmak, 42, an employee of Thai Airways, was just 200 meters from his home when when the truck carrying 46 tons of soybeans flattened his Toyota Fortuner.

Worawut, who was conscious all the way through the rescue, honked to let bystanders know he was alive. It took two hours for rescuers to lift the truck and free him from the car.

Worawut’s wife Lamun, 39, said that he had been attending a seminar in Phetchaburi province, and they were looking forward to celebrate his birthday together, which was Saturday.

As he was taken to the hospital, he told the paramedics that his lips and his left side were in pain. Nevertheless, he gave the cameras a thumbs up, according to Khaosod.

He reportedly had arm and leg injuries, but his general condition is somehow, against all odds … alright.

Truck driver Narong Wongpen, 33, said that he was meant to deliver 46 tons of soybeans to a cargo in Prachinburi province, and that he was only driving 40 kph, PPTV reported.

But looking at CCTV, it seems pretty clear that Narong didn’t slow down as he was making the left turn.

Police charged him with reckless driving, which led injuries of another person.
