Police are banned from blazing up at the office, starting today.
Gen. Suwat Chaengyodsuk of the Royal Thai Police signed an order Tuesday that prohibited law enforcement from smoking marijuana or hemp at all police stations.
In addition, people coming to such areas smoking or smelling of weed will be prosecuted under the Public Health Act. This also applies in situations where they can come into contact with government officials working under the police, as it would obstruct their work.
Police stations should also have “Do not smoke marijuana or hemp” posted.
The memorandum also advises police chiefs and department heads to supervise their subordinates to help control recreational use which could violate the law or affect the officers’ sterling image.
