Abandoned as a baby at the hospital, 29-year-old Siwa Geboers hopes he will get to reunite with his birth parents during his vacation in Thailand.
Yesterday, Siwa and his foster parents visited Ratchaburi Hospital, where he was born, to look for any records that will help him track down his biological parents.
Siwa was born on Jan. 13, 1988. He was then transferred to Phayathai Babies Home in Bangkok where Dutch couple Will and Margo Geboers adopted him at two years old.
Siwa, who works at a logistics firm in the Netherlands, told Thairath that his foster parents have raised him well, and since they’re on vacation in Thailand, they’d like to use the opportunity to look for his parents. The family will be staying until Feb. 18.
Thanaboon Prasarnname, deputy director of Ratchaburi Hospital, said that it is difficult to track down the information as the hospital only kept birth records of babies born in the past ten years.
Thanaboon said he will contact Phayathai Babies Home if they still have information and ask local social workers to help.
