An airline employee is going viral today after she was caught on tape aggressively yelling at Chinese passengers about their overweight bags at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport.

“OK? If it’s not OK, you can’t go. Just stay here,” the employee of NewGen Airways — a Thai international airline that concentrates on flights from Thailand to China — barks at the evidently confused passengers in a video was posted yesterday by Facebook page “Red Skull,” which ostensibly focuses on helping alleged crime victims.

“Usually airlines limit baggages at 7-8 kilograms but this airline only permit 5 kilograms. The passengers didn’t understand this and their bags were overweight so she started yelling at them,” the Facebook page captions their post, which does not specify when the incident took place.

In the video, which has received more than 96,000 views in less than 24 hours, about six passengers can be seen standing around a bag at the check-in counter while the employee paces back and forth, clearly stressed.

“Can you even read this?…(inaudible)… Look! Look!” the employee bellows while vigorously pointing to what we assume is a print-out of the baggage limit policies.

After a few moments, one of the passengers, a man in a white shirt, walks away, sits down, then appears to start getting angry. The employee follows to continue to chastise him.

The man starts talking to his friends, then suddenly stands up and starts yelling at his group before exiting the airport.

In a comment on their post, Red Skull claims that the tourist is telling his friends that his bag was only 0.4 kilograms over the limit.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first dust-up between a Thai employee at Don Mueang and a Chinese national. In September, a Thai security guard was filmed wildly swinging punches at a tourist that had been denied entry to the country.

That drama was said to have contributed greatly to the stark decline of Chinese tourists that visited Thailand at the end of last year.

Online, netizens seem split about the incident.

“What is wrong with you? Are you stressed? Are you hangry? Did someone just cheat you out of money? Why do you have to put so much anger [in this interaction]. You’re not ready to work in the service industry. You should just stay home,” wrote one commenter on taking the tourists’ side.

Another commenter who sympathized with the stressed-out airline employee wrote: “So often the tourists know they’re wrong but act dumb because they’re stubborn until we give them whatever they want… I see people like this all the time. It’s tiring.”

As of press time, NewGen Airline has not responded to a request for a comment and have proven unreachable by phone.

It is a relatively new airline that was established in December 2013, according to their website.

They declare that their mission is to become “ASEAN’s leading airline that offers superior quality, service, and value in every scheduled charter flight.”

So far… maybe not so good.
