Khao Neow Sangkaya; or egg custard over sweet, sticky rice; is widely regarded as one of the yummiest Thai desserts, but a sufficient amount of salty egg custard is crucial to its enjoyment.
Tesco Lotus instigated a formal investigation and ultimately apologized for packing too little egg custard with a portion of sticky rice on Tuesday after a photo circulated of the saddest-looking-ever khao neow sangkaya.
“The store has investigated the issue and found our employee did not prepare the product to our standards. We must apologize,” Tesco Lotus said. “Here we have added a correct photo of our khao neow sangkaya with the correct serving.”
