One of the country’s largest retailers yesterday introduced a priority shopping hour for health care workers, people with disabilities and seniors.

Tesco Lotus announced online Monday that it would immediately be opening early on weekdays to reserve grocery items for shoppers who are in need.

“Tesco Lotus would like to join everyone in supporting all doctors, nurses and medical staff who are the frontline tirelessly fighting COVID-19,” it said in an announcement.

The designated time of the so-called priority hour is 8am until 9am on week days at every branch of Tesco Lotus. Customers eligible to shop at that time are health care workers, senior citizens, pregnant women and people with disabilities.
