Be advised the gods are fielding some updated, high-tech tools to track your cumulative stain of naughtiness.
Armed with a Global Positioning Scepter (GPS) and a karma-enabled laptop, a god who minds the planes of demons was recently added to a temple southeast of Bangkok.
The mural is intended to send the message that these powerful forces are still at work in the world today, Phra Mahasawai Santamano of Wat Samsae San said in a story from Khaosod English.
“The notebook computer, for example, is a communication tool that we know. We are attracted by the image, then we look at the other side of the painting and see the images of hell,” he said.
But what about the angel painted with Doraemon’s face? Could it just be someone is fond of the time-traveling, feline robot?
No, apparently the blue cat-faced angel “reflects how people like to wear [figurative] masks,” he said.
