A 16-year-old girl was killed in a car accident on the Bangpu-Bangprain expressway on the outskirts of Bangkok early yesterday morning. According to her friend, the group had stopped on the roadside to take a selfie.
Kannikar Sawangmek tragically died on the scene after a speeding BMW hit her at around 3am on Sunday.
One of her friends, Nattakit Sodjam, 17, said they were driving home on motorbikes when Kannikar asked if she could stop on the expressway to take a selfie. As she was snapping a photo, a BMW sped down the expressway and crashed into the girl.
Badin Pattaranupan, 28, the driver of the BMW, said he did not see the teen girl and was driving to his house in Ayutthaya province, reported Manager.
Kannikar’s body was transferred to Thammasat University Hospital for an autopsy.
