An 18-year-old high school student died Tuesday after jumping off the Rama IX cable bridge to the Chao Phraya River in a suspected suicide attempt.
Shortly before jumping, the young girl contacted her brother-in-law declaring her intent to jump from the bridge.
Unfortunately, he could not stop her and arrived at the bridge after her deadly fall.
Authorities recovered her body on the banks of the river yesterday along with a purse containing a note and THB750.
It is unclear why she chose to commit suicide, but her brother-in-law stated that she recently sought him for romantic advice and expressed stress from school, the Bangkok Post reported.
