Police are looking for a teen mother who was caught on CCTV abandoning her baby at a hospital outside of Bangkok.
The 6-day-old baby girl was left in a paper bag inside the ladies’ room at Sanamchan Hospital in Nakhon Pathom province on Wednesday.
The hospital’s janitor who found the baby says she heard the baby’s scream on the second-floor bathroom of General Medicine Building. She found the baby wrapped with a towel and put in a paper bag. Inside the bag, there was an empty feeding bottle and a Buddha image with a note.
“The baby was born on April 24, at 9:29 hrs,” it read. “Please treat her eyes.”
According to the head nurse, the baby was found tired and hungry. Her eyes were inflamed and her umbilical cord was still attached.
The hospital’s security camera recorded a teenage-looking girl walk out of an elevator with the paper bag. Then she was seen leaving the hospital without it.
The baby is being treated at the hospital and will be handed over for care by the Prachabodi Center, a children’s and women’s welfare organization, Kapook reported.
