Taxi driver beaten unconscious by protesters

A taxi driver who’d had enough of the road congestion caused by the continuing protests was hospital yesterday after being beaten by protesters.

Petch Chusrikwa, 45, was attacked by a group of anti-government protesters at Sam Liam Din Daeng junction at 4pm yesterday after he threw rocks and scolded at protesters about the heavy traffic caused by their blockade of Vibhavadi Road.

Petch was beaten unconscious by several men and his car was smashed. He was left bleeding on the ground for some time before rescue workers arrived at the scene and transported him to hospital.

This morning, the taxi driver’s condition was announced to be safe, MThai reported.
